How We Move On
2020 has been a difficult year, saturated with abrupt adjustments and uncertainty. Processing change has always been complicated for me—it can feel exciting and meaningful yet anxiety-inducing, painful and even numbing all at once.
My thesis hopes to pinpoint the moments of quiet within transition. Oftentimes, when thinking back to times of change we can acknowledge the chaos, but tend to suppress the acute feelings of loneliness that accompany these experiences. How We Move On explores liminal spaces in effort of magnifying the process of moving from one place to the other, whether that be emotional or physical.
Originally, How We Move On was intended to be displayed as an immersive exhibition in a physical space using projectors to present the looping animated work split between three walls. While this can no longer happen as planned, I decided to recreate the piece virtually so that anyone can experience my vision from multiple lenses.
