A Proposal (2024)
In early 2024, Jackson reached out to me with a big project in mind. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Paige, by surprising her with an animation. I had worked on pieces for the couple in the past, but this was a next-level commission.
When we had our first consultation, I quite literally teared up listening to him describe their relationship. He knew he wanted to feature the Still Woozy song, “Habit,” and that he wanted to create vignettes of their relationship. Otherwise, he gave me a lot of creative freedom. I assigned him to write Paige a little love note which would guide the video. We worked together to compile his photos and feelings to create the final piece which was presented while popping the question. She said yes!

I decided to structurally organize this project in a similar way that I had learned from my corporate 9-5 at Bluetext.
Style frames → Storyboard → Animatic → Rough Cut → Fine Cut → Final Cut
Despite the client being unfamiliar with the standard video process, it really helped both of us stay up-to-date throughout the project
